Self-Portrait with Poodle

This all started with the "mudhead" painting, Girl in the Garden (#1).  I'm seeing how far I can abstract a face or figure and still have it read as a particular person. I feel pretty free to experiment with my own face! Who can be mad if it looks awful? Hmmm, perhaps I look better with a lot left out. :)

Swans on the Pond

Today we went to Michael McClure's studio for a painting workshop. We had such a fun time. This is what I painted. It's always fun to spend a few hours in the company of other artists. :)

First School Play, Portrait of Jack

He looked so cute in his Christmas tree tie and his argyle sweater. The tie was a bit askew by the end of the program, but the boys had gone to great lengths to show their ties to one another. Parents, grandparents, auntie and sister were all quite proud of the program and there were cookies and punch afterwards.

I met several challenges with this and I'm fairly satisfied with the result. :)

First School Play, Head study I

He's such a lovely boy and he did a wonderful job with his first school play.
